The event
Haunted Happenings brings October events, tours, museums and markets to Salem. The official festival calendar lists individual activities; there is no single daily opening time or ticket covering the whole month.
The Grand Parade was scheduled for October 1, 2026 at 6:30 p.m., from Shetland Park to Salem Common. It is a past date, not an upcoming activity. For the remaining October programme, check the dated event listing before travelling.
Weekday Salem versus weekend Salem
Choose the museum or tour that matters most and check its available time slots before arranging the rest of the day. Leave time between reservations for walking and queues; a weekday visit does not guarantee immediate entry.
For an evening visit, decide your last activity and journey home together. Check the last departure for your date before buying a late ticket.
Arriving without the traffic
The Newburyport/Rockport commuter rail serves Salem from Boston’s North Station. The official festival transport page also lists the ferry between Boston’s Long Wharf and Salem’s Blaney Street. Check the operator’s timetable, ticket availability and return service for your date.
If driving, use the official parking page to choose a permitted lot or garage. Another option listed by the festival is parking near a commuter-rail station and taking the train into Salem. A nearby hotel does not automatically include downtown parking.
