Nantucket Christmas Stroll 2026: Stroll weekend dates, Santa's arrival and the ferry plan
The Nantucket Christmas Stroll runs from December 4 to 6, 2026, with Stroll Saturday on December 5: carolers in Victorian dress, a marketplace from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Santa arriving by boat at noon. It is the island's busiest winter weekend, and the ferries and rooms fill long before December.

Book the ferry and the room together, months ahead, or plan Stroll as a day trip on the fast ferry from Hyannis and stay on the Cape. Saturday is the day; Friday and Sunday are the quieter island around it.

The event
Christmas Stroll turns Nantucket's cobbled downtown into a weekend-long holiday village: roaming carolers in Victorian garb, the Magical Talking Tree, craft shows, and a European-style Christmas marketplace on Stroll Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Santa arrives at noon on Saturday by boat, his nautical sleigh, at the waterfront.
The 2026 Stroll runs from Friday, December 4 to Sunday, December 6, presented by the Nantucket Island Chamber of Commerce, which prints the official programme at its Main Street office.
Getting there and staying
Nantucket is an island: everything depends on the ferry from Hyannis, run by the Steamship Authority and the fast-ferry operators, and on the island's limited winter rooms. Stroll Saturday sails and island beds sell out well in advance.
The workable alternatives are a Cape Cod base with a Saturday day trip on the fast ferry, or a Friday-to-Sunday island stay booked the moment the dates are announced. Either way, dress for a cold, wet December waterfront.
